Not surprising. When the government refuses to hold the government accountable for breaking the government's rules, there's no reason the government needs to follow the government's rules anymore in the first place. This is where tyranny starts: not with a bang but with a wink and a nudge.

I just assume they put every e-mail, phone call, text message, fax, and anything else they can get their hands on into a massive DB and filter for certain shit. Because insecure, corrupt pricks have to do lots of work to keep tabs on all the people they piss off who'd like to get even.
