If you haven't changing your configuration so that you're not pushing to talk, do so now.

While I really enjoy being able to scream at you all knowing you can't hear me, I think it's stupid that we dumped Steam because of latency issues, only to install a system with "push to talk". Forget latency, what about the nuisance of remembering to hit a button?

This was mentioned last night that there's no talking and our communication is poor (where have I heard that before?), and the fact that a few of us have been running push to talk is part of the problem.

If this new chat client is truly "live" without delay, then it makes sense that we can call things out faster, and need to like stuns, initiations, etc.

But if you don't use push-to-talk, everyone can hear the porn loop playing in the background all the time.

I think the problem I had was that my "Voice Activation" threshold was too low. I had it set that I only transmitted when I was speaking... but the slider bar was set too sensitively and it was picking up noise from the headphones. I reduced sensitivity, and I think that fixed my echoing problem.
