Just saw someone say, "Nobody refrigerates ketchup after opening."

If it says "Refrigerate after opening" on the bottle, I put it in the fridge.

Although, restaurants don't put it in the fridge...

I think you need a "either or" option.

Huh. I refrigerate, and if for some reason a bottle is left out for a couple of days (or the power goes out at work over the weekend, or whatever) I've always thrown it out. It never occurred to me that unrefrigerated ketchup might be okay. Even though I've seen it so in restaurants my entire life.

Well, in a busy restaurant a bottle will typically not last a day.

True, but most places they top them off at the end of the day. So some old ketchup stays with the new. Some of the molecules in there have probably been in there since the restaurant first opened, in some cases.
