Obsidian says publishers want to take advantage of Kickstarter.

They don't name who, but I just assume EA is involved.

Seriously, is anyone shocked that publishers would want to take advantage of this system? I can see the assclowns in their meeting now:
"We can set up a dummy company, get the public to fund the development of our game, and then sell it back to them!"

And yes, that's exactly what the publishers who approached Obsidian were trying to do.

“I said to them ‘So, you want us to do a Kickstarter for [you], using our name, we then get the Kickstarter money to make the game, you then publish the game, but we then don’t get to keep the brand we make and we only get a portion of the profits.’ They said, ‘Yes’.”

Yeah, I'm not too worried. Basically this leaves nothing for the publishers to bring to the table except marketing - which is not needed once your Kickstarter already has enough momentum - and their relationships with brick-and-mortar distributors - which matter a fraction less every time someone downloads a purchase. No one smart enough to be able to make a good successful game Kickstarter would also be stupid enough to sign away everything for nothing like that.
