Global Offensive.

No word yet if it's a new game or a mod or something else, but something is happening...

When i don't have any other games to play, I still play Day of Defeat like a maniac. I wish they would update THAT instead.

Guy played it for an hour and his impressions.

It looks prettier.

The conveyor belt level doesn't excite me but if it is just a screw around map and extra bonus I won't mind. Just as long as it isn't an indication of the type of thing included in all maps.

Also at the 40 sec mark on what looks like the italy map there seems to be some dummies. I haven't played CS in a while are those in the latest update or is that something new?

I would say those are the rag doll physics they use on death. They were probably blown up by a grenade.

I saw the "Ranked Match Making" and was afraid they are implementing a bunch of console type stuff to the game. I like hosting my own server, or picking the server I want to join. I don't want to see Modern Warfare style game selection.

Kovanen says of CS:GO’s “desaturated” lighting. “It feels almost black and white. It’s really hard to see player models from textures or random objects in the map

I said the same thing of Valve's DOTA2 minimap.

I watched a single DOTA2 match, and could not tell things apart. The minimap was useless. There was no personality.

So yeah, the graphics were better, but at what cost?

I'm so excited for this. Can't frickin wait. I play mad Counter Strike Source Beta and was actually offered a few beta keys for CS:GO from my clan EliteGamerz but i don't want to ruin the game, i'll wait till its released. It looks very sexy though, we won a competition a few months back when the hype first started on CS:GO, and our prize was actually DE_Dust and DE_Dust2 for CS:GO, and they looked very very very cool. Same with the game sounds, weapons, all that good stuff. It just looks like its going to be just as fun as CSS and then some, can't wait!

They're doing it Battlefield 3 style from what i hear. So you'll have the option for both. Just like TF2, dunno if you noticed but you can match-make or search. Personally as long as its similar to TF2's matchmaking, i'm down to see it implemented. I almost always go matchmaking on TF2 because its pretty good at putting me on a populated server with a good ping.

It looks like they are increasing the graphics quality and ignoring game play. Not cool. I agree with the videos. Some of the changes are for the worse.

You can't really change the game play. If you do then it won't be a tournament based shooter. They're adding objectives and weapons to the game, but beyond that i'm more than happy with it. If you were actually a CSS gamer you'd most likely agree, its gonna be awesome. Thats really all they've changed in the past anyway. What was the difference between 1.6 and condition zero? CZ and Source? Nothing, just updating graphics, adding weapons, improving physics engine.

Have you watched the player produced videos? The professional CSS gamers DON'T like it. As they say in their videos.

I'm was thinking that exact question reading Scooty's posts.

Here's the quote from CS professional players that's in the headline of the article I linked:
“It’s not fun. It’s a terrible game right now.”

No idea what people are saying about the game now. I'm betting the rage has probably worn off and people just play the game.

Anyway, it's only $3.75 on Steam right now.
