2011 New TV Shows

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Watched a few of the new shows:

Up All Night: Comedy starring Christina Applegate and Will Arnett as new parents who are struggling with giving up their partying lives. 5/10

Terra Nova: Earth becomes a shithole, people go back in time 85 million years to try again. Effects are good, but the acting, the dialogue, etc is very tell, not show. If the people behind Lost had been in charge, I think it would have had a chance. 5.5/10

Person Of Interest: Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson (Ben from Lost) star in this JJ Abrams series. Basically, precrime in the current era. By far the most compelling of the shows I've seen this year, great acting, dialogue, directing. Only watched 2 episodes, so curious to see if they can sustain it. Only thing I haven't really liked is that they keep beating you over the head a bit with things from last week ( I guess in case there are new viewers). 8.5/10

Have heard the show is ridiculous and they are doing everything wrong.

I've decided that I can't watch shows with teenagers in them any more. The writing/dialogue for those characters is apparently targeted to 12 year-olds. It is incredibly painful to watch.

Terra Nova has 2 teen-age characters.

The wife and I watched Terra Nova's two hour premiere. The story is TERRIBLE.

As for the dialogue, the main character's teenage boy talks like he's 8 years old, and his love interest (a teenage girl) talks like she's 30. I told the wife, "He's realistic because he's an idiot, but she could've been on Dawson's Creek."

We're watching it one more time to give it a fair chance. If it doesn't improve, we're dumping it.

Prime Suspect is pretty good. I've watched most of them on Hulu. Kind of like the shield, with a chick.

Fox canceled Terra Nova, but 20th Century Fox is shopping it to other networks.

That show Touch with Kiefer was good.
They aired one episode last month, and I'm looking forward to the series.

The premise is that people are supposed to meet other people, and certain things are supposed to happen. Keifer's son is autistic and has never talked. The boy can see the patterns of the universe and understands how things are supposed to happen. He is a tool of the universe to fix things, and get them going the way they are supposed to go.
Since the boy can't communicate on a normal level, Keifer has to figure things out from the clues the boy can come up with.
