Floyd Mayweather is a racist
He says Jeremy Linn hype is just because of race. He thinks everybody should shut up about him because "he sees black players doing that stuff every day and people don't talk about it."
Shut the fuck up up you racist prick.
First of all, they do talk about what the black players do every day. It's called ESPN Floyd.
Second, name any black player who is playing as well as Linn that nobody talks about. You can't do it.
Third, not too many asians are doing what he's doing. Why shouldn't people be interested to watch him?
Fourth, he's doing it in the media mecca of New York. Are you really that stupid to not get why he's being hyped?
Fifth, a long time ago, Rosa Parks sat at the front of a bus. White people did that shit every day. Why the fuck should people hype up what she did?
Eat a dick racist.

Have you seen his stats versus the league's other point guards? You realize what New York does to its sports stars right?
And yes, as I stated, him being Asian is a huge part of it. Hell, Tiger Woods being black was a MASSIVE part of his hype, which is hilarious because he hates his black heritage, and considers himself Asian.
However, it's not just because of race.
Here's a guy who has a great story. His dad was an immigrant who loved basketball. He learned to play from his dad. He didn't get into the school he wanted for college. He has been cut by two different teams who didn't even bother with him. Finally got a break due to injuries, and he has done everything with it. Oh, and he's doing it in the #1 media market in front of sold out crowds, and against some of the best teams in the NBA.
Show me a story that's more "the American way" than that.

Gawd, I was just watching an ESPN clip with 4 doofuses in suits talking about this. Tiresome.
Here's the thing: the race grievance industry in this country has done a very good job at perpetuating the following two axioms of racism:
1. ALL white people are racist
2. ONLY white people CAN BE racist
#1 is half-true, because the fact is that EVERYBODY is racist. So #2 is just stupidly false. But this is the template that we have to follow in polite conversation. Well fuck that:
1. Blacks are quite racist (listen to some BET comedians sometime)
2. Blacks think that basketball is THEIR game
3. The social problems plaguing blacks are NOT caused by white racism
There, I said. We all think it, so why not say it? I've about had enough with the "racism" card. Fine, we're all racist. Let's deal with that, and LIVE WITH IT. Stop getting all butt-hurt and faux-offended.

Everything he said = True Story.
The thing that irritated me so much about Mayweather's comments is that black people get away with this shit all the time and nobody says shit. It's fucking garbage.
Watch Linn play. I fucking despise the NBA because it's not even close to actual basketball, and I certainly don't like New York teams, but you can't help but be entertained by this kid's play. He's playing because he loves the game!!!!!!
Fuck Floyd Mayweather's racist views. He's an undefeated coward.

No, the biggest factor, and this is indisputable, is that he is playing well.
Take away his stellar performances, and his game winning shots, and you have a Chinese guy playing basketball, and we've seen many examples of that. He becomes a non-story, just like he was prior to becoming the starting point guard for the Knicks.
That is why Floyd Mayweather is a racist. That's why Lin is getting coverage where black PGs aren't. He's taking an "also ran" team without one or both of its actual superstars and he's guiding them to an incredible winning streak.
And again, I've said race is a big factor here, but it's not the biggest. Remember, the NBA also had a dominate Chinese center during the past decade, and while he made a big splash, it wasn't as big as what Jeremy Lin has made. Why? Because everyone saw Yao Ming coming. He was drafted because he was a great player. Jeremy Lin was cut from two teams, and was an afterthought.
I saw a sportswriter the other day say he loved Lin because the inevitable "30 for 30" already had 7 different endings.
As I stated before Tiger gets hyped up a LOT over his race, as does/will Lin, but that isn't the story. That's just part of the hype that the MSM uses to try and make a story. The real story is the fact that they win. For example: There's more than one black guy who plays (and played) hockey, yet you never hear about them because they aren't turning around a franchise or dominating their sport.
You must do something to get noticed before people look at the color of your skin.

Leisher's right. "Chinese guy can't play basketball very well" is not a news story. Whereas you could change his race to one of many possible racial/national/ethnic/whatever groups and still have a popular news story.
For example if he were Korean or Icelandic or British or a Transvestite or an Eskimo - but everything else about his story stayed the same - you might still have news there.
Yes, it's about race in that it is what makes him notable in conjunction with his playing. But not about race in that it's about his specific race, as much as it is specifically about his playing.

Leisher said it wasn't race.
It's not me, it's someone else.

Leisher said it wasn't race.
I'm saying it's about both, but it's far more about his playing than his race. Leisher didn't say it wasn't about race at all:

That.
