Avatar: The Last Airbender - Yay! Netflix.

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Watched this with my kid, because all of the negative reviews I heard were, "This was a fucking kid's movie."

So yeah, it was a kid movie, my kid liked it, and I wasn't disappointed because I turned it on expecting a kid movie.

My kid was trying to do some waterbending at the lake this weekend.

edit - Also the entire cartoon series appears to be on Netflix, so we'll be starting that, soon.

Watched the entire cartoon series on Netflix. 3 seasons, half hour episodes. Very much a serial... stand alone episodes here and there, but a very strong running storyline.

Very strong story, in my opinion. Great character arcs. Watching the characters go from bumbling to badass is a fun journey. Moral ambiguities throughout especially at the end, and they are addressed (the sweet young kid has to save the world from a powerful madman... and everyone is advising him that he has to do it, including good guys.... can he kill a person, even to save the world?). Good stuff.
