http://www.salon.com/2011....chamber
President Obama had just given a televised speech on the economy, and this particular gentleman, someone I’d never known well but with whom I’d shared a neighborhood and a classroom for most of kindergarten through 12th grade, a fellow I remember as being pleasant, a bit on the quiet side, a member of the marching band, certainly not a bully or a jerk, had written, “Just turned off the t.v. More lies from B. Hussein Obama.” Within a few minutes, 10 people had “liked” this comment. Within a few more minutes, others had begun to add comments of their own, nearly all of which made reference to the president’s skin color, “questionable” national origin, or socialist death-panel agenda. I nearly fell out of my chair. My heart was racing. I squinted at the screen. I read the comments again and again. This was the real deal, not on Fox News but right here on MY computer, on MY Facebook page. I’d invited it in, that horrible place I’d left the day I graduated from high school. I looked down at my keyboard and saw that my hands were shaking. I decided to add a comment of my own: “Don’t like! Boy, am I glad I don’t live in Richmond anymore. You are un-friended!”

not on Fox News

This has become my brain washed red flag. As soon as someone utters "Fox News" and something about them being biased, I know they're a brain washed moron, unless it's followed up with something along the lines of "CNN, MSNBC, etc. They're all biased towards their slant."

We've had headline fabrications, video/audio/photo doctoring, anchors who reveal their strong political bias, an unbiased survey showing most people working in the MSM lean left politically...by their own admission..., and countless other scandals, etc. that all point to each and every media outlet having their own agenda and/or purposely catering to a specific audience. Thus, to declare that one channel, who an unbiased research group found to have the most "balanced" mix of employees in terms of political leanings, to be the ONLY biased outlet is beyond ludicrous, and proof that you are actually the biased one.

CNN was straight outed (see what I did there?) back in Saddam Hussein's reign as purposely lying about how great Saddam was in order to be allowed to stay in Baghdad.

At least I think I generally squashed the "Faux News" joke. A while back I hit some major forums and mocked people for saying "Faux News" as a tired and played-out and no longer indicative of any sort of comedic wit of the user, but instead a hint that the user was weak-minded and uncreative. I haven't seen it much since.

Do you have that study? My only memory of a political-media-leaning study was that PBS' news stuff came out centrist, ABC news was 2nd... then the lefts and rights were about equal (so Fox = MSNBC/CNN reversed).

It was posted on our forums a while back.

The only things I remember from it was left leaning people made up 30-some %, right leaning folks were in the teens, and prefer not to answer was a big number.

The Fox News being the most "balanced", not in terms of reporting (although I think one was posted here on that subject too), but in staff make up might have been the same poll. In fact, I'm 90% sure it was...

They were considered the most balanced because while they had a majority of right thinking employees, they had more left leaning employees, by a lot, than the left leaning outlets had of their own right leaning folks.

Did that last paragraph make sense?

Gotcha, I was thinking of a different one, don't recall the one about staff.
