Article.

So this morning, the Taliban used RPGs and suicide bombers to attack the U.S. embassy, the Nato building, and some other international embassies/buildings in Kabul.

So far, 1 policeman and 2 Taliban fighters have been killed. Some children have also apparently been hurt when a mortar round hit their van. The Taliban fighters have managed to take over a multistory building that's under construction (meaning nobody was in it).

Not "happy" news from an area of the world that seems determined to never have peace or let their people have some semblance of freedom.

Then this made me laugh:
"We were working for months to carry out such attacks and hit U.S. embassy and NATO headquarters in the heart of Kabul," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told NBC News. "With the help of our sincere mujahideen with Afghan army, police and government, our fighters managed to enter this high-security zone and carry out such attacks."

Really? Months? MONTHS and the best you can do is to kill one cop, accidentally hit a school van (nothing gets people on your side like hurting their children), get two of your own guys killed, hurt NONE of your actual targets, and now you've isolated yourselves in a building under construction.

Brilliant!
