More changes for Star Wars?
I think George has an overinflated sense of his own talent. I mean even more so than other directors and Hollywood types.
George is pissing on his core audience, and doesn't realize the damage he's doing to his legacy, and the longevity of his work.
George Lucas is at it again
I just don't understand why he doesn't put two versions on the movie on one disc. The original and then a special edition. What is so hard about that and then what would people have to bitch about?
It's called ego.
He is right, and we are all wrong. That's what he believes.
He simply does not understand that Star Wars is far bigger than he is at this point. He has the mind set that Nimoy did when he wrote "I'm not Spock" (or whatever that book was called). Whether or not Lucas finally figures it out and releases what the fans want rather than what he thinks we should see will have to be seen.
Nimoy did later write "I Am Spock", so there's hope.
“Activism is a way for useless people to feel important, even if the consequences of their activism are counterproductive for those they claim to be helping and damaging to the fabric of society as a whole.” - Dr Thomas Sowell
Find and watch the Phantom Edit, the reediting of Star Wars Eps I & II, which actually turns them into halfway decent movies. Listen to the commentary on there. He explains very well just what George is doing wrong and why.
