Captain America - The First Avenger

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

A much better movie than I was expecting. I was skeptical of Chris Evans as Cap, but he did a good job. I still think Mark Valley would be a better Cap, but Chris fit the non-Cap moments well. They should have given Chris this film, and then aged Cap in the story so he could be played in The Avengers by Mark.

Anyway...

Absolutely worth seeing. Huge Weaving is pretty awesome as the Red Skull and the supporting cast is very solid. Special mention of Tommy Lee Jones who is this film's scene stealer. Great action throughout with a very nicely placed story. Good direction.

Just know going in that it's a period piece. Captain America fights the Nazis in WWII. If you know Captain America, then you know how the movie is going to end, but the ride is still very entertaining.

A very good superhero film that even your wife will enjoy. It's more realistic than mutants, spidermen, or gods with hammers, and it has a pretty good love story.

8 out of 10.

P.S. Stick around for the post-credits trailer for The Avengers.

Oh!

Also, are they suggesting an Indiana Jones tie-in with the, "...and the Fuhrer digs for trinkets in the desert" line?

That was pretty solid, much better than I expected. And, I pretty much know nothing of The Avengers/Captain America from comic books, so only clue to the ending was the beginning.

Going to watch Iron Man / Iron man 2 next (wife never saw IM, both of us haven't seen IM2)
It's not me, it's someone else.
