GameTap to the rescue.

This is actually a pretty good idea.

IF the pricing is right.

Considering emulators are easy to get and many people get bunbled versions of their classics, the pricing should be in the range of making it worth the money to pay instead of going through the hassle of emulators.

What sort of games?

I have a CD for my Dreamcast that'll run any Nintendo game I can think of. I never use it though. I'm sure there are emulators for anything else.

I did try it, and liked it better than emulators on the computer because of the controller.

My friend has been building a table-top acrade emulator. He has the parts (the acrade buttons, arcade joystick, etc.) and finally got the case built last week. It's pretty neat. Is goal is to make it look nice enough that his wife will let him keep it in the house.
