I hate this asshole.

The best line ever about him was "He's won Oscars for playing a retard and a thug...maybe it's not acting." (Not sure who said it, might have been one of us.)

To be honest, I believe some people really do need a good shot to the snooker. Almost always applies to paparazzi.

Granted the paparazzi are scum, but the point wasn't about them. It was about Sean Penn, the hippie who railed against the "war monger" Bush, always resorting to violence.

And honestly, who the fuck is he to go after paparazzi? Maybe you're all forgetting, but he's the king of photo ops.

Remember his trip to New Orleans after Katrina where he was shown getting into a boat with gear and even a gun to go help people, yet no actual pictures of him helping anyone were ever released...

How about his photo op trip to visit with Hugo Chavez?

Or his photo op trip to Iraq before the war to show how peaceful Saddam was and how happy the people of Iraq were and didn't need us to interfere. (Talk all you want about no WMDs, but he was still a prick who oppressed the hell out of Iraqis and Kurds...with the help of the UN in the 90s.)

So yeah, fuck Sean Penn. He wants the cameras to capture him being "SuperHippie", but not when he's being his normal douchebag self?

I'm still not saying paparazzi don't deserve a punch in the jaw. There's got to be a special place in hell for people who stalk and harass celebs and their families in an effort to push them into a "non-photo friendly" act or invade their privacy to share with the world.

If I was a celeb, I'd happily bring harm to any paparazzi who invaded my children's space, but I don't put myself in front of a camera to denounce other people's violence.

He's a self-serving asshole.

I remember his trip to Iran, to prove their government wasn't the thug regime they were being made out to be. Then they confiscated his camera and acted like thugs. He has been pretty quiet ever since, not counting his Chavez boner.
