Silent Hill 2: Hill Silenter
We need to see Inglorious. Perhaps this weekend. Let me bug the wife right now and I'll get back to you.
“Activism is a way for useless people to feel important, even if the consequences of their activism are counterproductive for those they claim to be helping and damaging to the fabric of society as a whole.” - Dr Thomas Sowell
Most of the characters are wasted. The burnt-out town & some of the atmospheric CG inhabitants are semi-creepy -- the shuffling, bipedal lava beast things.
There were some critical plot points where characters had to act like morons (or spontaneously became pussies -- either way) to move things forward. Considering all the flicks based on video games, this one wasn't that bad. It's watchable.

That's just it.... they weren't cgi. They hired contortionists and encased them in rubber.Malcolm wrote:Most of the characters are wasted. The burnt-out town & some of the atmospheric CG inhabitants are semi-creepy -- the shuffling, bipedal lava beast things.
Part of why I like the movie.
Not that I have a rubber fetish.
Just that those creepy-ass monsters were actually actors.

Maybe the one that attacks her & the cop, but what about the ones she runs into underground her first time?

Which?
I remember the making of featurette... the dude in the bathroom is an actual guy they twisted up, the things shambling down the mountainside were contortionists in rubber suits, the nurses were real, I'm pretty sure pyramid head was an actual actor, and.... what else was there? I remember the bug things, but of course those were cgi.
Been a couple years since I last watched it.

Me, too. It's right after she follows the girl into town. All of a sudden, the klaxon blares & night moves in. She ducks down some stairs, twists around a few hallways, & finds herself confronted by a mob of CG-looking, child-size, shambling things that caught on fire or something. She gets cornered & I think the night ends or she otherwise passes out & wakes up ok or the cop saves her, I can't remember.

I know what you're talking about now. They moved... interestingly... but I am inclined to believe those things were cgi.Malcolm wrote:Me, too. It's right after she follows the girl into town.
