Instead of doing a new film, the next Ghostbusters is headed to the world of video games. It will be penned by the writers of the movies and feature the voices of the four main stars.

The new game is essentially a sequel to the films, but they are also making a new film. I believe it might be scheduled to start shooting this fall.

Games as sequels could work. The Matrix game they released the same time as the second movie (with a story line that ran parallel to the film) was actually pretty good.
Story was worlds better than the actual movie.
