The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emporer

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Here's how I imagine the pitch for this movie went...

Movie exec: Indy 4 just came out so we're going to jump on that energy with another Mummy film. We've got Brendan Frasier on, but his female lead from the first two films isn't coming back. We'll try to milk the franchise by making his son from the second film 20 years older. If it does well, we can have him takeover as the lead for the franchise. Brendan won't have aged enough to explain his kid's advanced age, but we'll offset that by casting a much older woman as Brendan's wife. (Sidenote: I'm not being mean, but the whole time I kept thinking, "Why is Brendan making out with his mom?") In keeping with our youth movement, we'll hire the good folks at Highlights magazine to write the script, remove all the charm from Fraser's character, and hire someone from "Yo Gabba Gabba" to direct!

Seriously, this movie is equal to Goldmember in terms of destroying a franchise.

1 out of 10. (and I'm being generous.)

Do you mean Maria Bello? Cuz she's only 1 year older than Frasier.
It's not me, it's someone else.

Yes. She may only be a year older than Fraser, but she looks much older in this film. Combine that with him having a younger face and you have a contrast that is quite noticeable.

Bad, bad casting. (Probably bad makeup too.)

Even when she was on screen in her nightgown she looked like she had the body of an older woman.

Still, the advanced aging of this poor woman by the director and makeup artists pale in comparison to the butcher job they did with the franchise.
