No Man's Land - The Rise of Reeker

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

This is one of the Ghost House Underground independent films.

Years after a sheriff stopped a serial killer, he and his son come upon three men who committed a robbery. During the tense hostage standoff that followed something happens and now they all find themselves fighting for their lives.

This was a damn fine movie, particularly for an indy. I loved the concept, loved the serial killer, liked most of the acting (a few folks phoned it in or just sucked), and liked the writing. The twist is NOT a monumental blow away ending as the box says (unless you're a total moron), but it's really, really well done.

The concept itself was really well done. It might not be totally original (I recognize bits from the "Girls" series and "Identity" the movie) from top to bottom, but the writer really put together a nice story here and the director did a good job putting it on film.

I really don't want to discuss anything else about the movie as I think it's better if you go in fresh. But hell, I will mention that the girls are hot, particularly the brunette, IMHO.

This movie is definitely worth the rental for casual movie viewers and a must see for indy and horror fans.

7.5 out of 10.
