The Deaths of Ian Stone

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

One of the "8 Movies to Die For" series from Horrorfest. (Not sure which year, I'm guessing this is the new batch.)

This is an indy, so I'll cut it a bit more slack.

I had heard this was the best of the bunch, so I grabbed it, but I don't think that I agree with that statement. This is definitely the best one so far it terms of having an original storyline and good special effects.

Basically, the story has Ian Stone dying multiple times until he becomes aware of it and quests to figure out what's going on and how to stop it.

The performances here are better than the previous indy films in this series, but the story has more logic holes. Granted, none of the others dealt with the supernatural as this one does, but that's not an excuse for less characterization or why the story isn't fleshed out better.

Still, the story is original and entertaining, although a bit slower paced than it should have been. I also would have liked a lot more of an explanation to pretty much everything. I'm quite certain I never heard an explanation for some things, including the key question in the plot line. Granted, I was playing poker at the same time, but I don't think I missed the line of dialogue that answered it.

This isn't gory or even really scary, but it's ok. I'd tell fans of indies, horror, and film to give it a look. Much better made than the others in this series I've seen thus far, but not as entertaining...and it should have been.

Oh yeah, the monster is a great design.

7 out of 10.

So, it's the episode of Star Trek:TNG when they are looping in an anomaly in the space-time continuum, until Data figures out what is going on and changes the decision from using the tractor beam to decompressing the main shuttle bay?

Great episode, but this film isn't like that outside of the multiple deaths. Almost every other plot detail is completely different.
