Jamie Fox leads a team of FBI agents, including Jennifer Garner and Jerry O'Connell, to Saudi Arabia to investigate a terrorist attack on American oil workers and other agents.
I was expecting a very political movie, but was happy to not have Hollywood politics shoved down my throat. Well, not until the final scene, and even then, it's didn't turn out to be what I was expecting.
This is more of a thriller about politics among governments, law enforcement, and religion.
The storyline goes that Jamie and his team are trying to catch the bad guys before they can launch another attack, but encounter resistance from the two governments and because of the religion that's big in that area of the world.
They're escorted by a Saudi cop who shows that he's as serious about catching the bad guys as the Americans.
The movie is paced pretty well from the opening scene to the end. It moves as fast as the protagonists are allowed, which makes sense. Everything flows really well and everyone involved does a good job with their roles, especially Ashraf Barhom who steals the show.
The action needs a special mention as it is fast paced and really well done. What's best is that it isn't overdone in any way. The movie isn't overloaded with it and there really aren't any "bullshit" moments.
Absolutely worth a rental.
8 out of 10.
