The Path to 9/11

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

A documentary unflattering to the Clinton administration, not coming to a theater near you.
With no date for the release, questions are being raised about whether political pressure is behind its current status as a stalled or discarded DVD project. The reasons are murky, but the miniseries' writer, Cyrus Nowrasteh, believes it's crystal clear: Powerful forces are out to protect Bill Clinton's presidential legacy and shield Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) from any potential collateral damage in her bid for the White House.

Well, it would be pretty shitty to release this type of "entertainment" in the run-up to an election. I mean, only a real bastard would do something like that.

Uh, it was already on TV - last year.

I think you mean "not coming to a DVD player in your home" any time soon.

From the 2nd paragraph of your linked article:
The $40-million, five-hour ABC miniseries, which recently received seven Emmy nominations and drew a combined two-night audience of more than 25 million viewers, is for now on the path to nowhere. Its Amazon page reads: "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock."

Still strange that nobody wants to make any money selling it on DVD.

How many mini-series usually go to DVD? How many people want to buy this DVD?

All we have is one person's accusation.

My guess is that with some basic marketing to the "conservative" websites, it would sell shitloads.

I'll not be debating this any further.

These days most of them do. At least just about everything on Discovery, Science, History, National Geographic, and all those other channels like that ends up on DVD.

Maybe not so much for shows on ABC, though.

Roots, The Stand, V, and....well that's all the miniseries I can remember and they're all available via DVD.

Considering they can put an entire season of a TV show on DVD and in stores before the next season starts, I would lean towards one of three conclusions:
1. Whomever holds the rights doesn't think there's money in it.
2. Whomever holds the rights wants to protect the Dems.
3. Late 2008 release...which is what any smart business person would do. Wait until the election horseshit is at its peak like that douchebag Michael Moore did and maximize your profits.
