Supergirl (2026)

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

It's been an exceptionally bad week for women.

$38M opening. Even lower than the final projection.

It opened as "Rotten" on Rotten Tomatoes. The most common criticism is regarding the script. Turns out that perhaps hiring a woman with a single writing credit, a short film drama from 2018, was a bad idea. Oh, and she's also already hired to write the new Wonder Woman and Teen Titan movies.

Also, people are ripping Gunn with, "Apparently, James Gunn is only good at making Guardians of the Galaxy."

Superman lost money and now this. Do you think the new owners of WB keep James Gunn around?

Superman grossed $354.2 million in the United States and Canada, and $264.5 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $618.7 million.[4] It is the tenth highest-grossing film of 2025,[289] the highest-grossing superhero film of that year, and the first DC film to surpass all Marvel films released within a single year since The Dark Knight in 2008. Umberto Gonzalez at TheWrap described this as a "stunning reversal of fortune" for Marvel.[290] According to Variety, the film was expected to earn a theatrical profit of approximately $125 million,[291] while Bloomberg Businessweek and TheWrap both reported that the film earned over $100 million in profit through a combination of ticket sales, online home media rentals, and merchandise partnerships.[292][290
Sounds like superman made money, but not as much as originally hoped

That seems right. In the same realm as losing money when it's your flagship character launching a "new era".
