UFC
UFC event goes completely private.
Why?
Why?
That doesn't make any sense at all.The company declined to provide a reason for the closure at the time of the announcement earlier this week, but UFC president Dana White said Tuesday that he just wanted to give the media "a night off."
Oh, so we're doing private gladiator shows for the rich now? However, women's strawweight contender Mackenzie Dern, who is fighting in Saturday's main event, told reporters Wednesday that the reason behind the closure is Meta chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg.
Speaking at a media day Wednesday in Las Vegas, Dern (12-2), who is scheduled to face China's Yan Xiaonan (15-3), provided her understanding that the closure is linked to Zuckerberg.
"I know Mark Zuckerberg rented out the whole event," Dern said. "I know he'll be there, but I don't know if it's literally him, his wife or if he'll have friends -- some type of party. But from someone who wanted a main event with a crowd, [it's now] going to be very, very private."
Ok, so tell us why you aren't selling tickets to the public then. You just want to lose money?White took to Twitter later Wednesday and denied that Zuckerberg has rented out the Apex facility.
The UFC has still not commented on the matter other than White, who maintained Tuesday there is "no big secret" behind the decision.

Dillon Danis is about to fight Logan Paul. Logan Paul is engaged to the girl in the video. No idea how Danis got it, but he's been talking crazy shit about her to get under Paul's skin. Shit's very personal.

The confidence is takes to step into the ring is always impressive and a person should 100% be confident in themselves or they've lost before they step foot in the ring.

I really liked Rousey and would have included her in my "list of 5" at the peak of her popularity. However, in subsequent years, she's kind of shown she's a very petty and narcissistic person. The disappearing act she did after both losses was something not really seen before out of a major star like her. She was arguably the face of UFC and then ghosted everyone. In interviews since, she just comes off as shitty and arrogant.
Meanwhile, Carano got fucked over by Disney during the height of cancel culture. She posted a single meme comparing the ostracizing of specific people to what took place in Germany before WWII. The message in the meme was a simple warning about how trends like blaming certain people for everything can get out of control. However, people took it as comparing some folks on one side of the aisle to Nazis. That was all it took for "in their woke AF era" Disney to fire her. Rightly so, I mean, who does that, amiright?
If you're curious, it was a quite real image of a Jewish woman stripped half naked and marched through the street while German children threw rocks at her.
Anyway, it was basically the same picture, but with a different message, that her co-star, Pedro Pascal had posted a few weeks earlier, which made it all the more ridiculous. The difference is that his post was the other way politically.
BTW, she sued and won in whatever pre-trail stuff that happens, which got Disney to settle. They paid her out, publicly apologized to her, and their statement said they'd love to work with her again.
PP not coming to her defense, despite claiming she was a close friend and blah blah blah, is one of the reasons I cannot stand him. Great actor, but clearly a spineless cunt of a human being. A big name like him coming to her defense by simply saying that people should have a right to differing opinions would have meant a lot to the country, let alone a co-star he claims to love.
Anyway, everything I've read about her from her former MMA competitors, her co-stars on Mandalorian, Deadpool, etc. all say she's an absolute sweetheart of a woman. Thus, I'm rooting for her.
Although, I've heard the company behind the fight is Jake Paul's, so I don't know if it'll be a real fight or an exhibition...?
Speaking of, JCVD has publicly challenged Jake Paul to a fight. I've got to admit, I'd watch it. JCVD is legit a former champion and Jai White has discussed his skills in interviews. There's a story about Segal being scared of him at a party at Stallone's house. Also a famous one about Chuck Zito knocking out a drunken JCVD very quickly to avoid JCVD getting to his feet. Zito didn't want JCVD getting up and using his legs because he's deadly with them. BTW, Zito and JCVD are good friends now.

BTW, it's obvious to me, but we're not in the entertainment thread, so JCVD is Jean-Claude Van Damme.
