The Simpsons box office haul

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

The South Park movie... it was like, Matt and Trey went into the future to see what points people would touch on when complaining about the movie, then went back in time to make sure they lampooned those particular people when they made the movie. And they were so powerful with their kung fu that they avoided a disastrous paradox effect. But they didn't really, so it's brilliant. Not sure how you can get "there was no point to the movie" when it was one of the most well-executed and purposeful movies I've ever seen.

The future? All they did was take the same shit they do in the tv show, with the same public outrage, and extrapolate it to the movie. It was more like they just reached into the past and said "I bet if we said fuck 100+ times, we'd got more outrage" "and what if we threw in a gay saddam and satan?"

Bah. It was awful.

Me thinks that TheCatt doesn't like the movie because a certain song brought up repressed memories involving an uncle.
Maybe even a Canadian uncle.

No, I wasn't willing to pay to see the South Park movie. But it was good. Really lowbrow stuff, mixed with some incredibly witty stuff.
Yes, I'll probably see The Simpsons tomorrow night.

I like the South Park movie mainly because of the T&P interview, and seeing those two when they weren't playing their roles. They were well spoken and likeable. Nicely executed.

It's the first time I realized that Terrance and Phillip are really Matt and Trey.

My expectations were too high going in.

A lot of South Park episodes (not all) are truly brilliant social/political commentaries that most viewers don't get even when they're more obvious than not.

I know a bunch of people who saw the beaver damn flood episode and had NO IDEA that it was a statement about Katrina and the ridiculous reactions during the aftermath.
