Smokin' Aces-Donnie Darko

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Anyone here see both movies as I have? They really reminded me of one another. So I did some looking. Different directors, cast and such. But what made me think of the connection was in the lawyers office(Jason Bateman) there was a rabbits head from a costume. Somebody here know what I am talking about. Any connection?

I'd've to look into it, but off the top of my head, I'd say you're stretching any relation.

Ditto.

Keep in mind Unk that a lot of directors will shoot scenes in a similar manner to other movies as a tribute. They'll also use props from those movies or shows.

For example, Skully's license plate from the X-Files showed up in a movie recently. Also, I know a horror director who had the Michael Myers mask make a cameo in his new film.

Most Hollywood films are filled with cameos and tributes like that.

So what you noticed could've just been a tip of the cap by the director of Smoking Aces to Donnie Darko.

Could be. Just after I watch it I thought the movie could have been directed by the same guy, but wasn't.

That license plate is like the 555 phone number of the entertainment world.

It was in the Lost finale, and a bunch of people went crazy about the X-Files connection. Then a few sane people mentioned that *everyone* used that license plate.
