Star Wars question

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

I was reading a web comic today and they reference that Darth Maul claimed the Sith would get revenge on the Jedi for...something.

Was the "something" ever revealed?

Wasn't there a line in one of the prequels that claimed the Jedi wiped out the Sith a long time in the past? Maybe in Ep 1, when Qui Gon suggested what attacked him was highly trained and may have been Sith.

I think the history before the ep. I, II & III were that the Sith wiped themselves out (down to the last two). Of course, I'm sure they had some help.

Maybe they were killed by global warming.

For forcing them to the outer rim thousands of years before KOTOR and then beating them in several other wars since then.

Aye. I imagine there were numerous times when the Jedi whupped up on the Sith, hence numerous "somethings" to avenge.

So to sum up: "Lucas is an idiot"?

His world's mythology has just spun out of his control.

Newer stories have explained or cleared up any major contradictions the SW past may have had, except for the super fan boys.

KOTOR didn't follow all that well but other stories have made it fit fine. Again except for the most picky.

Basically there was a split. Some Jedi wanted to use their power to be good and to help others and some wanted to use their power to rule. They fought and those that wanted to rule had to escape to the outer rim and eventually became the Sith. The Sith have come back several times over the next thousands of years and started shit(The Great Sith War, Revan and Malak, and others) and lost. Leading to angry feelings on their part and the Sith wanting revenge on the Jedi for denying them the power that they feel is theirs.

Yeah that was the line or something close to it.

Before the rule of two the sith were all over and killing people and starting wars. Then Darth Bane defeated the other sith during a war and started the new way of secrecy and hiding. From that point on the Jedi thought the Sith were all gone since there were only the two and they weren't making themselves known.
