That's the same thing as the floating penny thingies that were popular in the 80's, I bet. Just with a little ring statue instead of a penny.

I see that ad every time I'm on an airplane. They sell Sting (Frodo's sword), the ring, and other shizzle as well. I thought about getting the One Ring.

There was a video game I saw in the arcade that used a larger version of that holographic trick. It sort of looked like Princess Leia's "Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope" message. You could reach in and try to grab the character, but just grabbed air.
The game must have been sucky because I only saw it once.

It went all over time. You also got to be a cowboy and a spaceman.

Like, 3 plain buttons for controls, right?

I think I threw a couple of quarters at it, but not enough to actually learn to play the stupid thing.

This was back when video games still tooka single quarter to play... and this one took 3 quarters. Screw that. I could get way more enjoyment out of Tron and Centepede for the same money.
