I'm with you, but my point was that someone should be there to counsel them. A lot of those suicides, and honestly, a lot of porn careers probably don't happen if someone is there to assist. Also, the rampant drug use on set, both illegal and legal, should probably be monitored.TheCatt wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 9:06 amI've always seen things like this as a product of the same thing. They're in porn, and dying of all these things, for the same base reasons. Not porn causing the dying.Leisher wrote: Fri May 05, 2023 10:22 pm Call me crazy, but I think that industry could use a slight bit of regulation. Just something to ensure that people are checking up on the mental, physical, and financial well being of the performers.
Nina Hartley, who still makes porn in her 50s/60s and loves it, has said that it is not for everyone. Some people can handle it, while others are not mentally stable enough to do so. Her, Sasha Gray, Jenna Jameson, and so on are people who had no issue with it. Most of those women in that video should have been steered clear of porn. Or an attempt should have been made. I highly doubt porn producers/directors are the types of people who would sit down with a young person and really explain the ramifications of doing porn.
