Surfing a bit this afternoon while waiting for some vendors. Found the following items:
-Thomas Jane dropped out of Punisher 2. He hated the first film and sees the studio taking the Punisher in a more PG rated direction. The Punisher + PG = Another example of Hollywood not getting it. The people who want to see a Punisher film want to see an R rated Punisher film. The Punisher is about violence and isn't even popular enough to carry the PG audience.
-Someone is making Point Break 2.
-A Dr. Evil movie might be in the works.
-Kevin Smith has a new romantic comedy in the works and a horror called Red State about religious extremists. Rumored animated films from him include an new Clerks, Mallrats 2:Die Hard in a Mall, and something with Bluntman and Chronic.
-Bruce Willis claims new Die Hard is better than the first...
-War.
-Statham is also staring in Death Race 3000. Although, the director is Paul W.S. Anderson so it'll suck.

I don't think there's a mainstream Hollywood director that could capture the spirit or mood of Death Race 2000. They need a fucker to come from out of nowhere & helm it.
