Someone here will inevitably upgrade, prolly by buying a new machine with it pre-loaded, so I figured it'd be nice to start gathering these.

1) Remove installation confirmation prompt and icon nagging.

2) Shift-right click to get expanded context menu

3) Windows-# of order of quick launch item = instant short-cut

4) Use virtual folders to save searches

This is in the "Tip" catagory:

At least 20 Vista services are collecting data about you and phoning it home.

Hoot, there it is.

I'll delete these last few comments in a bit to keep this thread cleanish.

Good. I was gearing up to buy several licenses prior to year-end. Now I can space the purchases out a bit.

Here's how to rip MP3's in Vista using Vista's own media player. Quick and simple.

How to burn ISO's directly in Vista. It's actually a Vista Powertoy... no 3rd party app needed.

Also, when I was burning an image, it MIGHT also have had an option to straight-copy CD's and DVD'd. I didn't explore that option, though. But burning an existing ISO was as easy as loading a blank CD, right clicking the file, and selecting "Create disk."
