A Taika Waititi joint.
This is "What We Do in Shadows" except pirates. The setting is the 1700s, the language is present day. "Sweet!"
There's a British fancy lad who decides to leave his gentle, cultured life in which he was afforded no respect, and try to find himself in the Caribbean as a pirate. I like that aspect of it. I like the idea of taking a plunge like that, into the unknown.
Three episodes in so far.... and it's ok. I'm hoping it finds its footing. I haven't disliked anything Taika has done, yet. Production values seem to be decent.

Our Flag Means Death
By episode 8, this show is trying to be something more than silly, but in a silly setting.
It's interesting.

Our Flag Means Death
This show took a big ol' left turn the last couple episodes, almost completely shedding the vibe of the first episodes. Waititi made something poignant, yet again.
