My Name Is Earl

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Last Thursday's episode (January 4th, I think) was the funniest damned episode they've ever done.

Instead of the usual Earl doing something on their list, it was basically an episode of Cops in their town. Pretty much all the bit characters made appearances too.

Last night's was pretty good.

I liked the Cops one as well.

The last couple have been really good. Telling the story from different perspectives was cool and neither had the sappy feel good shit that takes the each episode down a notch at the end.

Yeah, maybe this is where all the funny went that was missing from the two part Mexico series?

Not sure if this is a nation-wide thing, or what... but I was just at a Best Buy and picked up Earl: Season 1 DVD set for $16.99, normally priced at $41.99.

Finished watching Season 1. This may be one of the most consistently solid shows out there. Each episode was strong on its own, and obviously there was a story arch over the season, but they didn't just forget what happened last episode, week to week. Good stuff.

Also, the "alternate pilot" episode, did that air, or was it just on the DVD? It was brilliant.

The DVD release of the first season of the show features a 13-and-a-half minute long "mini-episode" called "Bad Karma" made specially for the set. The mini-episode is actually an alternate version of the events of the Pilot in which, instead of watching Carlson Daly on TV in the hospital, Earl watches Family Guy. Inspired by the megalomaniacal tendencies of Stewie Griffin, Earl comes up with a very different list and outlook on life.

So apparently not.

Ha, just watched the "Behind the scenes" special features on the DVD.

True to form, Fox was the first network the creators went to, and they turned it down so it could become a hit on NBC.

Some good ass executives at that network.

That was pretty good, thanks for the tip.

I gotta say, Joy had it coming. Crabman didn't deserve that, though.

Just watched a season 2 episode with Christian Slater that was nothing but a hippie jerkoff festival. It felt like I was being preached at by Al Gore for about 22 minutes.

Whoa. Someone hired him? Did they see "Alone in the Dark?"
