I have MFP devices. But my current one can't see the computer, and the drivers are old, etc. The device is a few years old, but doesn't like Windows 10 apparently.
Mine's also a scanner and copier, and has a hopper-feeder. It was like $325 on sale. A new toner cartridge seems like it'll be comparable to the cost of a couple ink cartridges.

Wasn't fake. It was a hidden camera show and this guy isn't the only one they got with this same prank.
