A direct sequel to Happy Death Day and featuring the same cast.
The movie opens brilliantly. Seriously. It's so fucking perfect that I was chuckling with the film makers. Just an incredibly smart start to the film.
From there the film is far, far less a horror than an action/comedy sci-fi film. Remember, it is PG-13.
I enjoyed it. It takes some of the shine off the first film, slightly, and makes some statements about our potential to become killers, but it's mostly just in good fun.
Back to back, I think this would be an entertaining evening. Although, the second film might turn off those expecting the same tone as the first film.
Stick around for the credits scene.
