A group of campers are sitting around the fire when they hear the story of a farmer who lost his shit and killed his family. His neighbors then came and killed him. Despite hanging him, when they returned the next day his body and his family's bodies were gone. Now legend has it that if you say his name above a whisper in the woods, he'll show up and kill you.
The campfire has a smart assed kid sitting there, so guess what happens.
For 1981 this isn't a horrific film. It has moments of stupidity. One actress, Jan Claire, puts on a cringy performance. It is not impressive. I blame the times as the poor girl is routinely acting against nothing. Also, the baddie is just bad. Bad makeup, bad effects, bad motivation, bad backstory, etc. He, literally, looks like Jesse Duke with a bad skin condition.
It's clearly a Friday the 13th ripoff, and it's a pale imitation. Kudos to them for trying, but why watch this when the one it's trying to copycat exists. Also, other copycats are better.

The more we learn about Weinstein and the fact that the "casting couch" is more than a myth, now we can look back and see a bad actress probably got the part because she gave an old man an amazing bj.Leisher wrote:
