With only weeks before the broadcast, they finally found a host: Kevin Hart.

Kevin Hart steps down as Oscar host because he refuses to cave to internet trolls.
Basically, as soon as he was announced, people started scouring his Twitter for offensive tweets. They found some against LGQBT (I mean, who else?) and made sure the world knew. The academy told Hart to apologize or they'd have to get a new host. Instead he quit the job.
I like Hart even more now.
