Yay Netflix!
After watching Tricked this was suggested, so what the hell?
It's like a "where are they now" for porn stars. They only cover around 10, but there are some interesting ones in there. As you can imagine, there are some very sad stories, particularly when you get the updates at the end. There's also one girl who admits to mail fraud in her interview, which...wow... But there's also Nina Hartley. (You know her from Boogie Nights. Oh, and all the porn you watch.) There's girls who do porn for a quick buck, there's girls who lie to themselves and think they can handle it, and then there's Nina Hartley who knows exactly what she's doing, why, and enjoys it. The biggest sin of this movie is they didn't spend more time on her. (I have a theory that she made too much sense and was a positive story on porn, thus they cut a lot of her.)
The saddest of the folks they do show, in terms of male viewers, is Randy West. Basically, imagine having the world by the balls, getting into porn for a quick buck, and then looking up to see 30 years and everything you've ever wanted out of life is now unattainable.
It's an interesting watch, but drags in some spots. Despite what I said about Nina Hartley, it's really not preachy, but you can tell there was a bias.
Don't watch it with the kids in the room as they show some scenes. The updates here come after a brief bit of the credits, just FYI. There's also a sequel that's now in my queue.
