Pretty much. I remember when that stupid little book-selling website bought my fave music store, cdnow.com. I had it all set up with my music preferences and history, and then amazon f'd it in the a.

Amazon slashed prices on day 1.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... -first-day

Makes me wonder if

1. they are now operating at a loss,
2. or WF was jacking prices up for no reason,
3. or WF was just inefficient as hell.

I assume prices were jacked up.

Why? Because the people who shopped there truly believed they were better than people shopping elsewhere and would pay premium prices to prove it.

But I'd bet you that 90% of their customer base claims to be tolerant, not racist, open minded, and not bigoted in any way.

It's ok to be bigoted toward southerners, and any mouth breather who voted for trump, or is perceived to have voted for trump. No real evidence on that is needed.

Or christians. Or white people.

But besides that, yeah, everyone else is protected.

Walmart sucks. Whole Foods does too.

Publix is good. Safeway is alright(wine selection++). Bodegas are better.

I was just talking today with someone about Kroger. Great store. Great prices. Great selection. Horrible meat department.

Their produce is fine, but not perfect. I like hitting the local markets, but they can be pricier.

I usually shop at walmart, not the shithole I always hear they are in other places, but that's the fun thing all the cool kids like to say. But one day I was at Kroger.... the deli meat was north of $10 a pound for everything. That's insane.

Kroger ruined Harris Teeter when they bought them.

What? I've never seen it remotely that high. Did that store run out of meat or something?

Is Kroger still union? They were when I worked there going to school. That's one of the reasons their meat and produce was always so high. Though their produce is generally in better shape than Walmart's. But their meats are insanely expensive. But now that we eat venison almost exclusively, all the beef prices are insane :-)

Amazon will be delivering food.

We knew this was coming after they bought Whole Foods.
