Long story short: Baby is being given a death sentence by England's health care system. The Vatican has offered to take the child for free. Doctors in the U.S. have said they believe they have a way to treat him. The parents have the money to take their kid to either place and want the government to release him. The government says, "We've tried everything and you can't have him."

This makes me think of when Sarah Palin used the phrase "Death Panels," in the run up to the Obamacare vote. She is still mocked for it.
