Angry little people

Post by GORDON »

When I was a younger man I felt it was my duty to make the world a better place.... which led to my severe brain trauma from butting my head against that particular brick wall. People won't be helped.

So when, if ever, is it acceptable to begin to sever from these people.... to cut out those angry little people who look at your own successes in life not as something to aspire to, but as something to try and tear down?

I thought the thread was going to be about this guy.
When I was a younger man I felt it was my duty to make the world a better place...
Heh. Most of the world isn't worth saving.
So when, if ever, is it acceptable to begin to sever from these people
What's the meaning of "sever" here? I got people I know that I generally avoid hanging out with for various reasons ***insane wife, COUGH COUGH, insane wife *** but I wouldn't call that a severing so much as strategic evasion. Then there's a secondary category of asshole, which may be the kind you're referring to: the ones that are goddamn toxic to be around who have zero hope of ever getting on your good side. The sooner you identify those parasitic pricks, the sooner you can tell them to fuck off.

I have found there are few people you really have to sever yourself from. Mostly I needed to figure out that I just didn't need to be as close to them as I thought I did. Boundaries can be difficult to figure out, but once you do it's pretty good.
