I never really understood the business model. There was one in Memphis. Went a few times, but it wasn't anything all that great. It was like they were trying to be Cracker Barrel, but without the awesome menu/food.

Who is copying who?
And did you just describe Cracker Barrel's food as "awesome"?
My experiences there have not been as positive.

Wow! I'd never heard of them (the restaurant side, not their food items in the store) before moving to Memphis. No wonder they went out of business. They suck at that.Leisher wrote:Bob Evans - 1948Vince wrote:I never really understood the business model. There was one in Memphis. Went a few times, but it wasn't anything all that great. Real maple syrup always wins, too. And their blueberry pancakes are awesome. I really like their sausage patties as well. A nice smoky flavor.TheCatt wrote:Cracker Barrel's pancakes are super nom.

Re: Bob Evans
BEs are more popular in Toledo than they were in Memphis. There are three here that I can think of. They used to advertise that they would not put a restaurant that wasn't close to one of their farms, for quick shipping... don't know if that's still true. They may be HQd here in Ohio, though. That sounds familiar. Not going to do BE research.

They're closing? Good riddance. A victory for taste.

Not closing, just being sold. New owners already own and run other restaurants.

Ah well. At least it has the potential to sell food now.Leisher wrote:Literacy isn't your thing is it?Malcolm wrote:They're closing? Good riddance. A victory for taste.

It's not me, it's someone else.
