V for Vendetta *no spoilers* - *no spoilers*
The "Supreme Chancellor" in this movie... basically the dictator of England, does a lot of things the left accuses President Bush of doing....
Ha! Told ya.
From a recent protest in... wait for it.... San Francisco:
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
Haven't seen it yet and I don't think I care if I ever do.
Alan Moore, the actual writer of V For Vendetta, has demanded that his name not be associated with the film.
That's a pretty good summary of the film, imho.
P.S. It was a graphic novel long before Bush.

I really liked it. The wife did too.Leisher wrote:Haven't seen it yet and I don't think I care if I ever do.

It's not me, it's someone else.
Yeah, but Alan Moore also claims he actually met John Constantine. Twice. No, seriously.
Prove him wrong...
Alan Moore is nuts.
I typically think most people who go out of their way to avoid success and the mainstream acceptance of their work have issues, but that doesn't make his disdain for the movie any less valid.

Leisher, you're being a bit too critical. Of all the <s>horror</s> near-future political thriller movies released in the last decade or so, <s>SAW</s> V for Vendetta was original and wasn't so terrible that it never should've <s>had a sequel</s> been made.

You can only use my quote against me if I say the writers need to be drawn and quartered as Malcolm did. I don't think that nor am I going out of my way NOT to see it.
I assume that at some point in the future I'll watch it and may like it. However, that doesn't stop me from pointing out that it does not meet with it's creator's approval, nor was the original message an anti-Bush thing.
