Let's just get this out of the way, this study is stupid and the conclusions reached are questionable at best.

This implies that they didn't control for # of partners in determining STD incidence. Which is stupid.The study notes that an increase in grooming can simply indicate an increase in sexual partners — which increases the possibility of sexually transmitted infections — as it can be a preparation activity.
