UPS

Post by Leisher »

If you're shipping stuff this holiday season you might want to consider the USPS or FedEx over UPS.

Some workers striking.

Can they stop workers at a private company from striking?

Follow up: Should they?

The USPS, FedEx, and DHL are all alternatives to UPS. If UPS employees want to go on strike when their customers need them the most, should be stop them?

Well, the air traffic controller strike was different. They grounded the country.

UPS not delivering some packages means other people can pick up the slack.

I don't think anyone would care. Can't even officially acknowledge Christmas, probably.

Also I think striking workers should be able to be replaced with people who want the job more. :-)

Plus they are employees of the federal government, which made it a very different situation. They can't strike by law. Or more accurately, once they do declare a strike they are no longer legally allowed to be federal employees. By law as soon as the strike started (even sooner for those that advocated for it) they should have all been fired and bared from future reemployment.
