The Walking Dead - Season 7

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

The Walking Dead - Season 7

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is the shit.

Brilliantly scripted opening episode.

Really? I really like that actor but I have up on Walking Dead long ago. Is it worth starting again?

If so what episode should I start with to get into the current plot without having to watch everything I've missed since they first found Sanctuary?

It all depends on you. I read the books and aside from that second season when back stage fighting made for a boring show, I love the pace. I'm a characterization guy, so I like getting to know the characters. That way when they die or do something heroic I'm more vested and into it.

So I dig the show. If you walked, I assume you weren't vested anymore for whatever reason. Like me and GoT.

JDM has definitely shaken the show to its core. I knew Negan would do that, but JDM is simply awesome. That first episode this season was written to intentionally fuck with you and show you the new paradigm.

What's the last thing you remember?

Lots of walking down train tracks, everyone split into little lost groups and being depressed. And some new characters I found annoying. Ended up at some place called "Sanctuary" that was probably a death trap but I wasn't interested enough to watch.

But I really liked the governor and am not sad I watched that part. I suspect I'll also enjoy Negan. Maybe I should just read the plot on the wiki then start watching at whatever ep JDM first shows up in.

The scene that put my son off the show for 6 months happened after Terminus. "Look at the flowers."

I liked that part. But it was pretty dark.

We watched the S7E1 ep just now... I really should talk to him and make sure he's ok... the one was pretty fucked up. The other went out like a champ, though.

spoilers here?

The Terminus season got a touch slow. Mainly because, imho, they're burning through the plot too fast. GoT has a similar problem where they made the shows faster than he could write the books. Still, the final episode that season was pretty good.

Season 6 was really strong. Lots of characterization and setting up relationships so what was coming really hit home. They did this while keeping the action at a higher pace than previous seasons. Are there slow episodes mixed in? Of course. But overall, it's a great season.

It sets up Negan's arrival, and I assure you, you'll love him. His level of psychotic thinking is something that's never been seen on TV. The S7 premiere has the Parent's Television Council in a huff too, which is a great sign it's good! Ha!

JDM's name should be discussed in Emmy season.

We do need a spoiler thread. I'll create it.
