Jet.com... I always wondered what their exit strategy was, there was no way they could compete with Amazon.

That being said, I'm a little surprised Walmart bothered. That should be a sign of Walmart's desperation.

Why not? It's.... what... less than a quarter of their net income in 2015? I forget. I want to say it was in the neighborhood of $15B.

Why not roll the dice, see what comes up.

Sure... why not take that $15B net income and make it $14B?

I bet they'll push their physical presence... everywhere. But they'd really have to improve the class of customer service people they will have at the online order desk. I overheard some walmart peeps last xmas... they were losing 65% of all layaway items, and the two times I had to return an item, it was like dealing with zombies. Depressed zombies.

But yeah, all in all, I don't see them competing with amazon. One of the millennial Waltons pushed this, I bet. They always have shitty ideas.

I'm not sure I had ever heard of jet.com.

Jet.com wanted to be the next Amazon. I bought some stuff from them cuz they had stupid promotions ($30 off $75 + 20% off stackable coupon) and such. It's got a horrible interface. The more you buy of a given item, the more it discounts.

It was bleeding $40M / month as of last Fall.
