Crimson Peak

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Crimson Peak

Here's a film that doesn't know if it's a horror or a thriller. Loads of gore and ghosts, but they're sort of irrelevant. Directed by Guillermo del Toro.

A young girl's mom dies and she sees dead people as a result. Later in life she meets a guy that her dad doesn't like. Said guy has an odd sister. I won't describe more due to spoilers, but honestly if you don't predict every fucking plot point you're asleep. I'll grant you a single detail that most wouldn't guess but it's a really minor point with no payoff.

Back to those plot points, the problem is that the main character should see it too, but doesn't and it's maddening.

I think this is a great example of a movie that's worse than people want to admit because of the director. del Toro creates a amazing visuals normally, but they weren't particularly impressive at any point here. Combine that with a longer than normal running time to play out a predictable story with zero action and pointless ghosts and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Skip it.
