Neighbors
This looks like the kind of movie that would drive me crazy.
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
That looked like one of those movies that could be pretty good, but the marketing shit cut into the trailer is selling it pretty hard as the sort of painfully stupid movie that I would despise. I can't tell if it's because the movie will be that sort, or if it's just awful marketing.

As a parent, this movie was about as realistic as Sharknado. That being said, it's pretty entertaining.
A "young" married couple has a baby and buys their first home. That's when a frat moves in next door.
Seth and Rose Byrne are the married couple and they're pretty solid together. There's a chemistry there and they're a believable couple. Are they believable parents? No. Every parent watching this film will be crying bullshit many, many times.
That being said, there's a lot of truth in the movie too. So much so that I'd argue there are really heavy doses of reality. In fact, I theorize that one of those doses of reality hit a segment of this film's audience and hurt the film.
Zac Efron is brilliant as their douchebag frat president. His character arc is the one that really brings the truth. You could look at his character in different ways: A cautionary tale for kids watching the film, eye candy for your lady and Gordon, and an adversary men envy. I even think his ultimate fate was a bone thrown to the adults in the audience, both the men and women. I think it's a form of validation.
Deep thoughts for a silly film.
There are some genuine laughs, a couple of groan moments, some really unbelievable shit, and a lot of TNA for both sexes.
See it.

His ass needed far more kicking.

Aye.
But not a lot of TnA, imho.
Same. Seth doesn't count.

I don't know but I haven't gotten the search function to work, yet.
I HATE THE SEARCH FUNCTION. THE SEARCH FUNCTION ON THIS FORUM SUCKS.

Re: Neighbors
It's because all the old posts that were moved over didn't have post titles. Otherwise, I've not had a problem with it.GORDON wrote:I don't know but I haven't gotten the search function to work, yet.

Re: Neighbors
Well I never had a problem with the old search. This forum....
Well, you get the picture. Peeps be all bitching about search functionality. I said it on day 1. I think I even mentioned the possibility existing posts didn't get indexed correctly.

The conversion, however, was not correct. But oh well.

What's your point? Seriously.GORDON wrote:I don't know but I haven't gotten the search function to work, yet.

If there's an issue, should we not address it?
If we eliminated all the threads complaining about something the only thread left would be the picture thread. Or are we just not allowed to complain about the forum?

Re: Neighbors
For complaining? Did you ever not have a turn?
It wasn't just the shitty search feature, that bravo for you guys working around it, it was IMs not working, code within posts not working, etc.
Are things here perfect? No, but as Catt said, there are reasons. Perhaps they can be fixed? Perhaps this move to a newer tech allows us to continue moving forward?

Is the search algorithm open source/hackable?

Re: Neighbors
We went from a search feature that worked perfectly for me 100% of the time to one that works pretty close to zero percent of the time. I have license to complain, because it's my turn.

Enjoy my level of frustration with the previous board. Too bad we can't break other features for you like they were over there.GORDON wrote:We went from a search feature that worked perfectly for me 100% of the time to one that works pretty close to zero percent of the time.
