Study shows boys outscore girls on reading tests if told the tests were a game. But boys scored significantly lower than girls when told the tests were assessments of their reading skills.

Interesting start. Really needs to be done with a larger group and more rigorous study, though.

But I'm more interested in the fact that the girls score dropped when told it was a game rather than a reading test. I'm expecting a big push to gamify our educational system to increase student motivation, but if this study is valid that may backfire when it comes to girls.
