Fucking really?
Japan's fleet took about 4,000 lives of minke whales and 18 fin whales (which are endangered) in the time period between 2005 and 2013. The sale of meat of the whales was later done in fish markets and high-end eating places.

The rationale of ‘research’ took many lives. In the rest of the world, whale scientists study whale populations fair enough without using lethal methods. Out of the 14,410 whales killed for scientific purposes since 1982, 95% are attributable to Japan.

Besides thin, the country hasn’t even done much in the field of science as since 2005, Japan has only two peer-reviewed papers to put forward for its whale hunts.

While minkes aren't endangered, fin whales certainly as fuck are. But that doesn't stop Iceland.
In October 2006, Iceland's fisheries ministry authorized the hunting of 9 fin whales through August 2007. In 2009 and 2010, Iceland caught 125 and 148 fin whales, respectively. An Icelandic company, Hvalur, caught over a hundred fin whales in 2014, and exported a record quantity of 2071 tonnes in a single shipment in 2014. Since 2006, Hvalur has caught more than 500 fin whales and exported more than 5000 tonnes of whale meat to Japan.

There were under 40K before the new millennium. There are just barely 100K now.

So we sanction them. We'll all just buy Italian cars until they stop hunting... what do you mean, the fan belt's broken? I just bought it!

The U.S. could end this bullshit overnight.
